If you are not using your boat for a period of two months or more during the winter, be sure you properly winternize your boat and motor. Make sure there is no water in the lower unit or lower unit oil, the boat sump area, live well or drainage hoses, especially if you store your boat outside. Properly fog the engine and add gas stabilizer to your gas tank. Be sure to recharge all your batteries every month. SPRING TIPS
Prior to your first trip each spring make sure you recharge your batteries and check the water level. Check the ignition and/or power switch to make sure you have sufficient power. Do not start your outboard while it is out of the water. Check trolling motor to verify power. If you have not started your motor for some time be sure to add fresh oil and gas. SUMMER TIPS
During the hot summer months make sure you check the water level in you trolling and starting batteries at least monthly. Recharge your trolling and starting battery immediately after returning from the lake. Check you batteries and make sure they are secure and stablized in your boat.
